Opinions are funny things: oftentimes, though we think we have thoughts and opinions about things, we actually usually have feelings about things. That is, we like or don't like something, but we don't necessarily think out why we feel that way about it and whether our feelings are justified by the reality of the situation. However, when individuals act on feelings instead of facts (what they feel is true versus what actually is true), things turn into quite a mess quite quickly.
Recount something about which you once had very strong feelings but later discovered that those feelings were unfounded. After you do so, explain what facts changed your mind and how things might be different today if you hadn't faced the facts.
